The annual Singapore River Hong Bao (春到河畔） is here again! Held annually from the 1st day of the Lunar month to the 15th day.
Had our dinner at Cafe Cartel. (they forgot to bring us the menu). The St Louis Pork Ribs which I had wasn't that fantastic. I will try other dishes next time. After dinner, we went walking around following the crowd which lead us to this Singapore River HongBao event. haha... Did't know that theres such an event here. Took some quick shots in the damn crowd. The place was super crowded... However, managed to find a good spot on a bridge waiting for the fireworks display. haha.... 
Damn... after the fireworks, my camera didn't have enough battery to survive more shots...  It was a good night though..... hahaha...

Went down to expo today for the car show with Weili... Took my camera out for a shooting session until it went flat. Pardon my shots... All taken without flash as my camera flash is really weak. Turn ISO setting to maximum though.... Some of them were out of focus due to hand shakes.. Not professional shots though... Sighx. Think I need to buy a new camera when I got the money.

This day marks the end of my 16 years of education.

After a screwed up day yesterday, I had finally managed to finish my final year presentation. Everything was almost smooth actually but I was almost late for it. Woo!!! Slept at 6am and woke up at 10am this morning. Then I managed to do some last minute preparations and rehearsals and dozed off at 1pm. Lucky I managed to jerk myself awake at 2.15pm. MY FUCKING PRESENTATION IS AT 2.30PM!!!!!!. Dammit.. I am gonna be late... just like how I got my presentation date mixed up yesterday... PUIZZZZ!!!!! Oh well, finally managed to reach the place on time and set everything up.. Phewzzzzz....
And thats it.. the end to my 16 years of education.... I am finally done with the educational system. Current status is unemployed!!!

Haha... I didn't sleep a wink last nite.. Playing warcraft.....
9.20am: Received a call from my fyp's sup's secretary.... "Hello are you Nern Jie? Are you going for presentation? Everyone is waiting for you, you know?" My instance reaction is....!!!! WTF!!!! Opps I must have did it again!!! But god... that couldn't be.. I clearly remembered my presentation date was tomorrow on the 6 May.. definitely not on the 5th May.
OMGZ! The thoughts of failing my FYP and ruining my 2nd class honours just because of this stupid mistake keeps hunting me for a few minutes.... Finally, I managed to cook up an excuse to asked his secretary to cover up for me too.. Damned! *desperation* No choice, his secretary had already told him that I had mistook the dates. Fly straight to the campus medical centre to buy a medical leave for 1 bucks just in case I need it to cover myself. Called my sup on the way to explain to him I am not feeling well to do a presentation today and had it arranged on another date. Phew.. lucky he agrees and gives me a slot on the 6th May. If not, I will really be done for it this time....
I swear that my presentation date is on the 6th.. Someone must have changed the date inside the studentlink system!!!!!!!!! Bloody hell..... 
4.00pm: Loud sparks of sound heard in JiWei's room....
After dinner... Jiwei's computer cannot boot up. Suspected power supply failure, he changed the power supply to another one which our other friend has as a spare. Everything is working after that for a few seconds.. Then I see some bright light from inside his HDD area.. Tot its the power LED lights.. Then it got brighter... until.... dammit... HIS HARDDISK IS CATCHING FIRE!!! kaox... haha.. happening sia... then the whole thing began to smoke...... Tats it... his hdd gone... 4 years of bloody work and effort of his assignments, resume, FYP all burnt in split seconds.... 
Helped to test his second hdd on my comp... his second hdd gone case too.. lolx.. so damned suay... Tested his peripherial cards... and shit.. my comp now cannot boot up.. seems like I am too experiencing the same prob as him too... wtf?!?!? haha. think somehow, his peripherals cards shocked my power supply?! This is damn strange... Anyway I was preparing my presentation slides for tomolo's presentation. Now, my comp gone. Lucky hdd never chuiz.. still can use my friend's laptop to do.. lolx...

As I sit in front of my computer sorting out my pictures taken on my last day in Miami with my group of friends, sudden thoughts of feelings rushed through me... Time really flies. It has been 4 months since I had come to Miami on this exchange program with the University of Miami. My stay here for this semseter has come to an end. It has been a really wonderful experience here in the US. Its my first time here and I enjoyed it very much.
The friends I made over this 4 months really make my stay here a truely amazing experience that I can relate to others in my lifetime journey...
As my friend Fede has written to me, "Inside the mountain, all is gold.... I am not rich, but I have a lot of friends that I gonna miss...."
Yea... this is the sadiest thing of all. For 4 months, we have been hanging out together in this foreign land, helping each other hand in hand. Now, we will have to go back to our homes.... I gonna miss all of you guys.........
Some day, some time and some place, we will meet each other again..... And I will be waiting for that day to come.....

Alone in New York Part 3

Day 3... Last day in New york.... Time flies.... I have to leave this wonderful city back to Miami......
Wake up at 8 in the morning, most of the snow have melted. But theres still some traces of it left by the side of the road....
My first destination, Statue of Liberty Island and Ellis Island....
After that, have a walk around the financial district and wall street. Wanted to go into the New York Stock Exchange but its not open to the public. Take a few pictures on wall street then proceed on to Ground Zero. The place where the twin towers used to be. The whole area is fenced up so you couldn't really see anything.
Next, make my way to Brooklyn Bridge to check out the skyline. After that, went to take a look at the seaport distrist. As I near the pier, the strong smell of the wet fish market beside it fills the air. Basically theres nothing much about the place except for a really bif fishing boats at the pier......
Later, I took the subway to the SOHO area to check out the place(South of Houston).. The place is filled with shops with nice cloths. Obviously this is where you will want to go for some expensive shopping. hehehe
Walked all the way up to Greenwich Village after SOHO.. They are just beside each other... Saw a fence with all the tiles hanging on it and with the writings delicated to the day, Sept 11....
Went back for an early night... coz have to meet Emily later when she touched down in New York at 1130pm.  .....
In the end, too bad we didn't meet... Shes suppose to be my invisible friend and had to pass me my christmas present... Her flight reached NYC at midnight and I cannot contact her before that..... Oh god.... should have called her again after midnight.. hehe....

Day 2....
Wake up at 8am in the morning and its snowing as the weather forecast has expected...
Its the first time that I had experience snow! Hence I may have taken too many pictures for today.. hehe...
Spend the morning at central park strolling around enjoying the white scenery until 2pm. Then after that, went for a walk around Chinatown, Little Italy and around the financial district at night.....
My foot fell into a puddle of ICE cold water... dammit.... for the next 30 minutes, my foot was freezing inside my shoes.... It was drizzling the whole night.... Such a spoiler..... Finally reached back to hostel at 11pm...

Reach New York City at 12pm.
Check in first in Wanderer's Inn Hostel and out I go to my first destination at Empire State Building.
It took me 2 hours to get all the way to the top of this 86th storey building. 1 hour for the tickets, 1 hour to queue for the elevator. But rest assure, once you get to the top, your efforts will be paid off. You will be able to get a magnificent view of new york city.
At night, walk over to Rockfella centre which is nearby and Timesquare and finally to Grand Central Terminal.
Thats it for Day 1.

Trip to Washington DC! 27/11 to 30/11

I have been quite busy finishing up my assignment last week.... Thats why I am late uploading my pictures from washington here.
Basically, the place is very nice and beautiful... Washington has nice buildings, nice scenerys with squirrels running around the grasses in the park. The place is cold, ranging from 10 degrees all the way to 1 degrees at night...
The nightlife is not as vivid as Miami... probably its winter there and its a city for monuments and museum.. not for clubbing and partying. So, if you are into historical stuffs, you are in the right place. Its also a good place for sight seeing...  
Okie tats all... I am having exams this week.... 10,11,12 Dec.. 8 more days before I left Miami back to Singapore. How I wish I can stay for another semester... The friends I made, the fun I had, the crazyness in me is all that I will miss...
Okie, gonna make another trip to New York on 13 Dec before I leave US. But will be travelling alone... Wonder if its a good or bad thing... .... haha.....K thats for now...
